Minimalist Baby Registry: Only the Essentials

Not every new parent wants their living room overtaken by gear. If you’re a minimalist (or short on space), here’s what you actually need for a smart, simple baby registry.

Sleep

• Bassinet or crib
• 2 fitted sheets
• 2–3 sleep sacks or swaddles

Feeding

• 4–6 bottles + brush
• Nursing pillow (optional)
• Burp cloths
• Bibs

Diapering

• Changing pad
• Diapers + wipes
• Diaper cream
• Diaper bag

Extras (but not too many)

• Soft blanket for cuddles
• Carrier or wrap
• 5–7 onesies
• 3–4 footies
• Pacifier

Pro Tip

Skip the wipe warmer. Skip the baby robe. Skip anything that sounds nice but only works for 2 weeks. Focus on gear that grows with baby and works in real life.
